Support Groups for Fetal Alcohol Syndrome

During our research, prevention and intervention work in various communities, FARR has often received requests for a support group. After careful investigation and research we decided to establish an FASD Support Group for parents/foster parents/carers who care for children with a confirmed or suspected diagnosis of Fetal Alcohol Syndrome or Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder.

If you are currently staying in the Cape Peninsula area and are interested in receiving support, you are welcome to join the FASD Support Group that meets once month in the area. If you do not have access to the monthly Support Group that is currently meeting, please let us know, as a new group
may start your area if the need exists.

For anyone who stays too far and cannot attend monthly meetings there is the possibility of receiving information and support via SMS, e-mail and phone calls.

In whatever way you decide to join the FASD Support Group you can be sure to meet other parents who are facing the same challenges as you in raising your kids. Learning from each other and supporting each other can only empower us to be the best parents we can be.
